ADULTS
I work with adults to help resolve issues associated with anxiety, substance use/misuse, interpersonal relationships, attachment, mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, and finding life's passion once again.
I can help with:

--Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the resolution of trauma and other problems talk therapy has not helped.

--Exploring life transitions and reigniting your passion.
--Increasing your interpersonal effectiveness in personal and professional & relationships.

I welcome every sort of family with the goal of increasing understanding and balance, improving communication and exploring difficult dynamics and issues.
I can help with:
--Exploring and coming to terms with the demands and challenges of new / expecting parenthood.
--Therapy with children and parents to help navigate and resolve conflict.
--Learning how to reconnect with your life passion as your children mature and leave the home.
--Family therapy to open channels of communication that may have been lost / forgotten.

ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG PEOPLE
I provide therapy to adolescents trying to find their way through difficult family dynamics, peer / school relationships, behavioral issues, low self worth/esteem, poor academic achievement, trauma, issues associated with coming out as GLBTQI, bullying or being bullied, anxiety, depression and substance use.
I can help with:
--Supporting adolescents and youth to find their voice.
--Navigating the transition from middle and high school to college.
--Increasing independent living skills.
--Collaboration with additional helpers and providers to maintain a continuum of care.
--Identifying positive, pleasurable activities to help increase self worth.
--Parent/child therapy to open channels of communication in a safe environment.
--Connecting you with the right level of care to address substance use.
FEES
Insurance: I am not contracted with insurance companies but am happy to provide you with a monthly superbill so you may request out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company directly. I encourage my clients to fully understand the terms of their insurance policies.
Fees: Please call for a free 30 minute phone consultation to discuss the type of service that may be appropriate to fit your individual situation. This conversation will help us determine the service and the fee recommended for your individual or family needs.
Cancellation Policy: I require a minimum of 24 hours notice for all cancellations. You will be charged the full fee for the missed service if you do not provide adequate notice.
Reduced Fee Services: I reserve a few reduced fee spots for those in need of reduced fee services. Please inquire by calling or sending a message on the form below.
Payment: I accept checks, cash and credit cards at the time services are rendered. I am happy to provide you with a receipt upon payment.
Session Length: Individual sessions are 50 minutes. Conjoint, parent/child or family sessions will range from 60-90 minutes, depending on the problem and number of people attending the session. Fee and session length will be agreed upon before the session.
ABOUT
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, CA License #81057, with 15 years of clinical and counseling experience. I graduated with a B.A. in English from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ, and received an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University in Alameda, CA. I also completed graduate level courses at New College of California in San Francisco toward my degree. I began my counseling career through volunteering at the GLBT National Help Center in 2006. Over the course of my career I provided psychotherapy and clinical case management to low-income youth and families in nine SFUSD public schools. I worked as a Case Manager to adults managing complex diagnoses in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. Most recently, I worked at an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in San Francisco helping individuals and their families recover from addiction and mental health disorders. I am currently a Clinical Supervisor for the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice (CJCJ) and have a private practice in San Francisco, CA.
