PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR ADULTS, ADOLESCENTS AND FAMILIES
Therapy for Teens, Young Adults, and Families in San Francisco
ABOUT
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20 years of experience in San Francisco. She works with teens, young adults, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, and life transitions - providing affirming care for the LGBTQIA+ community since 2006. Sessions are available via telehealth across California and walk and talk therapy within San Francisco.
I began my counseling career through volunteering at the GLBT National Help Center in 2006. Over the course of my career I provided psychotherapy and clinical case management to low-income youth and families in nine SFUSD public schools. I worked as a Case Manager to adults managing complex diagnoses in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. I worked at an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in San Francisco helping individuals and their families recover from co-occuring substance use/misuse and mental health disorders. I am currently the Clinical Supervisor for the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice (CJCJ) in San Francisco, CA. I own and operate my Private Practice located in San Francisco, CA. I have training, education and experience providing the following:
SERVICES
EMDR Therapy
Some experiences don't respond to words alone. They live in the body, in reactions you can't explain, in memories that still feel like they're happening now. EMDR therapy was designed exactly for this. As an EMDR-trained therapist in San Francisco, Erica works with teens and young adults who are ready to heal from trauma, anxiety, and the things that talking hasn't touched.
Trauma Therapy
Trauma doesn't always look the way people expect. It can be the childhood you're still making sense of in your 20s. The relationship that left you questioning yourself. The experience you've tried to move past but keeps showing up in your body, your reactions, and your relationships. If you find yourself bracing for things that haven't happened yet, trauma therapy can help you start living differently.
Anxiety Treatment
Anxiety is not simply worry. It is not a personality trait or a sign that you are weak. For teens and young adults, anxiety often shows up in specific ways - lying awake running through conversations that haven't happened yet, avoiding situations that used to feel manageable, feeling on edge for no reason you can name. This is not who you are. It is something that can change.
Who I work with
My practice is built around teens, young adults, and families navigating some of the most demanding years of their lives. Whether you are a high school student finding your footing, a college student whose anxiety has finally become impossible to ignore, or a young adult in your 20s carrying something you haven't been able to put down - this is exactly the space I work in.
I have provided affirming care for the LGBTQIA+ community since 2006, and warmly welcome queer youth, queer adults, queer parents, and families of all kinds.
All sessions are available via telehealth across California.
